So why is it, that so many people relapse, after they are physically
detoxified?

LOL :) Because if you dont you are a pile of snot on the floor. Also if
it were that simple do you think there would be that many people hooked
on opiates; you sound like my mum :)

Your telling me that people who get addicted to heroine are not getting
anything out of it? Just avoiding the negative symptoms?

That just sucks. Why do it anymore?

I mean really, why?

It the way they give it to also, they don't usually main line

Also as far as opiates go, after so long you
	Just don't get high anymore.

Hell I could iv morphine and nothing.

But yea watch out for "trying" to go #2
	Yea when hell freezes over

Thanks Jim, I have always wondered why I didn't catch a
buzz from morphine given in a medical setting - it shoulda been pretty
strong.

The best part of my time at that hospital was getting
fresh air and sunlight.

Hi Again,

It probably was regular old morphine sulphate at 15 mg/ ml. I had it
many times
when I was a kid and it would take away the w/d sysptoms but there was
no
buzz. Most of the guys said the same. Also, the same goes for new
morphine (SP)
aka race morphine - nothing at all. On the other hand Dillies were
always in demand
but were a bit on the expensive side. Now the Dillies are dirt cheap
since they came
out with the 8mg tabs. With the Oxys you ( I ) feel the first shot
then nothing.
But there are a lot of people who like them. The thing is you can keep
using them
and using them till done much like Coke. Then you find you used a
months supply
in two or three days.

Best to ya,

  - JIM

Don't know which type of morphine I was given. The nurses just
referred to it as morphine. It could have been plasma for all I know.

its easy to get high on morphine sulphate, just change
it to morphine citrate, or plain morphine base... easy as pie.....

Hi Sitkaa,

Contrary to popular belief morphine (morphine sulphate) does not make
you high.
It is GREAT for pain and easy on the system (watch out for constipation)
but not
all that good for getting high. Now, speaking only for myself I can
not get high on
hydrocodeine or Oxycontin (unless IVd). There are many people who will
take
hydrocodeine or Oxycontin rater than morphine. On the other hand, I can
get
quite buzzed on 3 or 3 1/2 tablets of Tylenol #4 which I really think is
me for all
the others prefer the Lortab and Oxy.

Hope I confused ya ;)

Figured I would start a new thread since the the last one
devolved into ("*&^$%#@***&&^^!!!!**&^%$##^!!!!!!!!**^^%%$#@@!!!!!!!!")

So yea, I took morphine once. I was at the hospital, recovering
from an operation. The nurses would occasionally give me a shot of
morphine, but I didn't feel a thing from it. No diminution in pain, no
altered state of consciousness, nothing.
At one point I figured that since I was stuck in the hospital
for the next two days, what the hay, might as well get as high as
possible. Although I wasn't really in pain, I did my best agony
imitation, and got the nurses nervous. They gave me morphine twice more,
asking if that helped. It didn't do anything for me, one or the other,
and I told them so. Finally they called the doctor to get him to
prescribe some serious dose of drugs. They gave me what they described
as a very large dose of morphine that should have knocked me out. It
didn't do diddly to me. I don't know, maybe they were just yanking my
chain the same way I was yanking theirs, but I seriously felt nothing
from their IV drip lines.
So I gave up on that game. I was bored sitting in the hospital
like that waiting to get better. Bored.
I finally checked myself out against the wishes of Dr. God and
everybody, disgusted with the hospital experience. I walked home as a
way to let off some steam. That walk was the best part of the whole
affair.
I wanted to get high to see what all the fuss was about. I
dunno, maybe I did get high, but just didn't know how to feel it, kinda
like the first time you smoke pot. But still, the first time I smoked
pot, I certainly felt something. I didn't feel anything with the
morphine they were giving me.
Anybody wanta explain that one? Give you something else to talk
about.
