I have a client who stopped dilaudid (64mg/day) and switched to suboxone.
The client described that the suboxone caused waves of depression and it
felt more intense than depression from any other narcotic. Knowing that
some are sensetive to the naloxone (a thebaine derivative), the client
switched to subutex. Same waves of depression and a sense of general
toxicity. The client decided that no medication was better than suboxone
and stopped. Later, this client indicated that subutex was the only
narcotic that caused her to experience intense suicidal ideation. It does
seem to be a "miracle drug" for many people, but not for everyone.
