[Ibogaine] The War on Consciousness , Marc Emery

Hi Luke,
This is where you have to be able to trust your intuition and where Bwiti comes in as to understanding iboga. It can bring back the visions but it depends on what the person is trying to achieve. If they are feeling uncomfortable and there is a little withdrawal; like with methadone, or if you are working very closely with the person and they are ready to move into working on to more of their underlying issues the booster helps. But the main context I was referring to was with regards to longer acting opiates. The main thing is everyone is different so you have to keep in mind there is no clear cut rule or reaction but you can get a good idea by being involved. This is just my experience and opinion.

Hi Simon,
I'm curious as to what effects booster like 300mg have 24 hours or so into the trip? Does it bring back the visions? I think I'd have visions pretty much even taking just the 300mgs though the effects might be different after having been though the main dose.

I have had success with a waiting period of 10-12 hours or until withdrawal starts before dosing with opiates other than methadone, I don't think its necessary to wait 24 hours before dosing because then that person will be in full blown withdrawal and what I am personally trying to achieve is to eliminate any discomfort. Heroin or opiate addicts have a fear of withdrawal and I find that if they are still feeling OK when they take ibogaine they have a better experience and don't confuse some of the side affects the second day with withdrawal. I also don't work by a rule as such only a guide line as every one is different. With methadone depending on the dose I have found 24 hours enough and even a booster of 300mg total 24 to 48 hrs later was fine if needed at all. I would like to know why you think it necessary to wait 24 hours before dosing with heroin addiction for instance? I have had success with a ten hour gap and no boosters only Valium after 48
hrs to help to induce sleep and relieve the irritability.

I would have methadone users go 48 hours from their last use before giving them ibogaine HCI. You'd need to sweat the patient a bit otherwise the ibogaine can't really do the job 24 hours after last methadone use. Heroin, morphine, methamphetamine, cocaine, I made them go 24 hours from last drug use before giving them ibogaine.
