[Ibogaine] iboga and its latex based Sap

I think there is a misunderstanding about the term latex. According to
dictionary.com one definition of latex is: "a milky liquid in certain
plants, as milkweeds, euphorbias, poppies, or the plants yielding India
rubber, that coagulates on exposure to air." I don't think this is meant to
imply that all of these plants are rubber tree relatives but rather that
they all exude a milky substance that hardens on exposure to air. I have
often heard raw opium described as latex when referring to its initial
oozing from the seed pod but I would be real surprised to find out it had
any actual chemical resemblance to the substances used to make commercial
latex products.
